Please note that >70% of the content at EA Summit: Vietnam 2025 will be in Vietnamese. While there will be some limited opportunities for engagement in English through meetups and talks by invited professionals from the United Kingdom and Singapore, kindly keep this in mind when registering.
EA Summit: Vietnam 2025 will take place on September 20, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at the HCMC University of Economics and Finance, from 9 am to 6 pm. Applications are open - so apply now!
This Summit is the inaugural effective altruism (EA) conference organised for individuals across Vietnam who are thinking seriously about how they can make the world a better place. It brings together people from a wide range of fields to explore how evidence, reason, and compassion can guide efforts toward doing the most good.
Whether you're just discovering EA or have been working on pressing global challenges for years, the summit is a unique opportunity to explore, exchange ideas, and discover new ways to make a difference. You can expect:
- Introductory talks and discussions on key principles of effective altruism and high-impact cause areas, including (but not limited to) global health & development, animal welfare, and AI safety.
- Skill-building workshops with leading experts working in adjacent cause areas.
- Office hours and meetups to connect with mentors, peers, and collaborators.
Who is the event for?
This event may be a good fit if you are:
- New to effective altruism, and interested in exploring how its principles can help you make more thoughtful, impactful decisions in your career or personal projects.
- Part of the existing EA community in Vietnam, and looking to build deeper connections, collaborate with others, or share what you’ve learned.
- An experienced EA, particularly if you’re interested in supporting national or regional efforts, mentoring promising individuals, and building stronger ties across the global EA network.

- Vegan lunch, with snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Application Process
Applications will be open until September 12, 2025 — don’t miss your chance to attend! Here’s what you can expect:
Complete a short application (~5-15 minutes). We’ll ask you to provide information about your interests, background, and motivation for attending.
Our team will review your application. We aim to respond within 10 business days, regardless of the outcome of your application.
Register for the conference (~10 minutes). If you are accepted, you’ll receive a confirmation email and ticket. You’ll be asked to provide any logistical details as applicable (e.g., dietary needs, accessibility requirements, volunteering interest).
