About the Summit
The EA Summit: Philippines 2026 will take place on 31 January 2026 from 9AM to 6:30PM in Makati City, Philippines at AIM Conference Center.
EA Summit: Philippines is a one day effective altruism (EA) event for individuals across the Philippines who are thinking seriously about how they can make the world a better place. It brings together people from a wide range of fields to explore how evidence, reason, and compassion can guide our efforts toward doing the most good.
Attendees may be new to effective altruism or are already working on complex challenges, such as (but not limited to) global health and development, animal welfare, and AI safety/governance. The summit is designed to foster meaningful conversations, introduce promising ideas, and support thoughtful action at both local and global levels.
Who is the event for?
EA Summit Philippines prioritizes attendees based in the Philippines, with the aim of strengthening local networks and supporting community-building efforts across the country.
The summit also welcomes experienced EAs from around the world who can offer valuable perspectives and mentorship to the event.
This event may be a good fit if you are:
- New to effective altruism, and interested in exploring how its principles can help you make more thoughtful, impactful decisions in your career or personal projects
- Part of the existing EA community in the Philippines, and looking to build deeper connections, collaborate with others, or share what you’ve learned
- An experienced EA, particularly if you’re interested in supporting national or regional efforts, mentoring promising individuals, and building stronger ties across the global EA network
Program Highlights
The agenda for Summit events typically includes:
- Introductory talks on EA concepts and key cause areas
- Intermediate talks and discussions on pressing global challenges and potential solutions
- Skill-building workshops focused on decision-making, career strategy, and project development
- Meetups and (informal) socials to connect with peers, mentors, and collaborators.
Full event details will be available in the Swapcard app closer to the conference. Swapcard also makes it easy to connect with other attendees, and many find these connections to be one of the most rewarding outcomes of the conference. We recommend using Swapcard to message others and arrange 1-on-1 meetings a week or two before the event begins!
How do I attend? - Applications are now open!
If this is your first time applying to the event:
- APPLY: Submit an application through our form by January 15, 2025. After applying, you can expect:
- To receive confirmation that your submission was received immediately after submitting the form.
- To receive a decision on your applications within ~10 working days, regardless of the outcome.
- REGISTER: Accepted applicants will be emailed a registration form – this helps us manage communications, catering, and access to our event’s networking app.
Registration is on a rolling basis.
- Accepted applicants must submit the registration form in order to confirm their attendance.
- If you can no longer attend after registering, please let us know to cancel your registration so we can offer your slot to another person. If you made a ticket donation to our team, we are happy to return the amount to you if you cancel your registration.
If you were already accepted or registered to the event:
- REGISTER: We’ve communicated instructions through your email with the form where you can directly register for the new date.
- If you can no longer make it, let us know by replying to the email or submitting “no” to the registration form.
