The EA Summit Paris 2026 will take place on 5 Dec 2026 in Paris, France, at Espace Saint-Martin (199 bis Rue Saint-Martin, Paris 3e).
Why this Summit?
Some ways of doing good help far more than others – and it is possible to find out which. This simple, surprising idea is the starting point of effective altruism (EA): a global community of people who use evidence and careful reasoning to work out how to help others as much as possible, through their donations, their careers or their projects.
The Summit is a one-day event built around a conviction: this way of thinking is best discovered through people. Throughout the day, you will hear members of the community share their inspiring career journeys, explain how and why they became involved in a specific area they've chosen to focus on, and they'll be around afterward to answer questions.
Who is this for?
The Summit brings together two audiences:

New to effective altruism – you've read something, heard a podcast, or had a colleague mention it, and you want to find out whether the idea actually holds up: is this a genuinely better way to think about where your time, giving, or career could do more good. No background is required, and scepticism is fine. What a podcast can't give you is a room of people who've already made these calls and will tell you honestly what worked and what didn't.

Familiar with effective altruism – you already know the movement and want to strengthen your network, meet peers from the French-speaking and English-speaking communities, and play an active role in welcoming newcomers: hosting a table, facilitating an exercise, sharing your own trajectory.
The event is bilingual: every session is labelled FR or EN, except for the opening and closing, which will be subtitled. We're aiming for sessions in English to be of the same standard as those in French. Bilingual participants simply choose whichever room suits them.
What to expect – and what not to
To set expectations clearly: you will not leave with all the answers. The Summit is designed as a starting point, not a destination. Our goal is that you leave curious, having met people you want to see again, and having chosen one concrete next step, on your own terms: a reading group, a one-on-one conversation, an introductory programme, a future event.
Your day will be punctuated by opportunities to listen, to engage in discussion (with the ambassadors and the nonprofits in attendance) and to reflect. We aim to make the experience as rewarding as possible, whilst giving you the space to take in what you learn throughout the day.

Application Process

Here’s what you can expect:
- Complete a short application (~5-15 minutes). We collect basic details about your interests and engagement with effective altruism.
- Our team will review your application. We aim to be in touch about your application regardless of outcome within 10 business days.
- Register for the conference (~5 minutes). If you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive an email with a link to register and confirm your place at the conference. At this stage you’ll be asked to provide dietary requirements and additional logistic details, indicate whether you’ll be available to volunteer, and have the option of donating to offset event costs.
