EA Summit Nairobi 2026 will take place on 11 April 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya at Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Nairobi Arboretum.

EA Summit Nairobi 2026 is an effective altruism (EA) conference organised especially for the Kenyan EA communities. Whether you’re just beginning your EA journey or if you’ve worked in one of the cause areas for years, this conference is an incredible opportunity to connect with people and organisations in the community, exchange ideas, and discover actionable ways to make an impact.

Application Process

Applications will open soon—don’t miss your chance to attend! Here’s what you can expect:

Complete a short application (~5-15 minutes). We collect basic details about your interests and engagement with effective altruism.

Our team will review your application. We aim to be in touch about your application regardless of outcome within 10 business days.

Register for the conference (~5 minutes). If you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive an email with a link to register and confirm your place at the conference. At this stage you’ll be asked to provide dietary requirements and additional logistic details, indicate whether you’ll be available to volunteer, and have the option of donating to offset event costs.

Who is the event for

We prioritise attendees based in Kenya to help strengthen our local network, but we warmly welcome experienced members of the global community who can offer mentorship and perspective.

This event is likely a good fit if you are:

  • Exploring: You are new to effective altruism and want to see how its principles can help you make more thoughtful, impactful decisions in your career or personal projects.

  • Connecting: You are part of the EA Nairobi community and want to build deeper connections, find collaborators, or share your own lessons learned.

  • Leading: You are an experienced EA interested in supporting regional community-building or mentoring promising individuals entering the field.

Program

The agenda for EA Summits typically include:

  • Talks and discussions on pressing global challenges and solutions
  • Skill-building workshops
  • Meetups and social activities

We’re in the process of designing the event program and want to hear from you! If you have ideas for speakers or topics, let us know through our speaker referral form.

Full event details will be available in the Swapcard app closer to the conference. Swapcard also makes it easy to connect with other attendees, and many find these connections to be one of the most rewarding outcomes of the conference. We recommend using Swapcard to message others and arrange 1-on-1 meetings a week or two before the event begins!
