EA Summit: Bengaluru prioritises attendees based in and around the city to strengthen the community and the connections across it. We also welcome experienced community members from elsewhere who can bring expertise, perspective and mentorship to the room.

EA Summit: Bengaluru 2026

The EA Summit Paris 2026 will take place on __5 Dec 2026__ in Paris, France, at Espace Saint-Martin (199 bis Rue Saint-Martin, Paris 3e).



### Why this Summit?

Some ways of doing good help far more than others – and it is possible to find out which. This simple, surprising idea is the starting point of effective altruism (EA): a global community of people who use evidence and careful reasoning to work out how to help others as much as possible, through their donations, their careers or their projects.

The Summit is a one-day event built around a conviction: this way of thinking is best discovered through people. Throughout the day, you will hear members of the community share their inspiring career journeys, explain how and why they became involved in a specific area they've chosen to focus on, and they'll be around afterward to answer questions.


### Who is this for?

The Summit brings together two audiences:

- __New to effective altruism__ – you've read something, heard a podcast, or had a colleague mention it, and you want to find out whether the idea actually holds up: is this a genuinely better way to think about where your time, giving, or career could do more good. No background is required, and scepticism is fine. What a podcast can't give you is a room of people who've already made these calls and will tell you honestly what worked and what didn't.

- __Familiar with effective altruism__ – you already know the movement and want to strengthen your network, meet peers from the French-speaking and English-speaking communities, and play an active role in welcoming newcomers: hosting a table, facilitating an exercise, sharing your own trajectory.

The event is bilingual: every session is labelled FR or EN, except for the opening and closing, which will be subtitled. We're aiming for sessions in English to be of the same standard as those in French. Bilingual participants simply choose whichever room suits them.

### What to expect – and what not to

To set expectations clearly: you will not leave with all the answers. The Summit is designed as a starting point, not a destination. Our goal is that you leave curious, having met people you want to see again, and having chosen one concrete next step, on your own terms: a reading group, a one-on-one conversation, an introductory programme, a future event.

Your day will be punctuated by opportunities to listen, to engage in discussion (with the ambassadors and the nonprofits in attendance) and to reflect. We aim to make the experience as rewarding as possible, whilst giving you the space to take in what you learn throughout the day.

The conference programme will run from approximately 5 pm - 9 pm on Friday evening and 9 am - 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be opportunities to connect with other attendees in the evenings.

__For those interested in volunteering we recommend aiming to arrive in Melbourne on Friday morning for training and setup from midday Friday.__

### Cost

Attendance at the conference is by donation, with a suggested donation of £100 (~$200AUD) for most attendees.

If you are a student or facing financial hardship, we suggest a donation of £30 (~$60AUD) though we encourage you not to donate if you don’t feel able.

Conference attendance includes lunch & morning/afternoon tea on Saturday & Sunday, and light refreshments on Friday night. All other food over the weekend will be attendees' responsibility and cost.

### Travel assistance

Funding will be available to support travel to the conference for those that would not be able to attend otherwise. The maximum support available will depend on your location, with more available for greater distances within Australia and New Zealand.  In some cases, we might not be able to pay for all of your travel expenses. If you do not end up receiving travel support, this is likely the result of limited funds rather than an evaluation of your potential for impact.

EA Summit: South Africa returns for its third year. On Saturday 31 October 2026, 200 people from across Southern Africa will gather in Cape Town at UVU Africa (Brickfield Canvas, 35 Brickfield Rd, Woodstock) for a full day of evidence, ideas and action, on the world's most pressing problems — including global health and development, animal welfare, biosecurity, AI safety and effective giving.

Whether you're encountering these ideas for the first time or have worked in one of these fields for years, this is a rare chance to meet the people doing this work in the region, test your thinking against theirs, and leave with sharper thinking, real connections and a concrete next step.

Attendance is by application.

Applications are open now and close on 16 October 2026. Here is what to expect:

- Complete a short application (~10–15 minutes) on Luma. We ask about your background, your interests, and how you would like to use the day. There is no minimum level of EA knowledge required.
- Our team will review your application. We review on a rolling basis and aim to be in touch within 10 business days, whatever the outcome. All decisions will be out by 19 October, so that everyone has time to make travel arrangements.
- Register for the summit (~5 minutes). If you are accepted you will receive a link to register and confirm your place. At this stage we ask for dietary requirements and access needs, and your choice of ticket tier.

We expect to receive considerably more applications than we have places, and we select carefully, so please apply early, and please apply even if you are unsure whether this event is for you. ### About Effective Altruism South Africa

We support people to maximise the impact of their resources and careers. We run capacity-building programs, provide career advising, and support the growth of a community of people dedicated to doing the most good they can.

Tickets are offered on a tiered scale, including an exemption option available to anyone for whom the cost would be a barrier — no questions asked, and it makes no difference to your place.

### About the Summit

The Effective Altruism Istanbul Summit 2026 will take place on October 24, 2026, at HAN Spaces Etiler in Istanbul.

Effective altruism is a philosophy and social movement focused on finding the most effective ways to solve the world’s biggest problems—such as global poverty, animal welfare, and catastrophic risks from artificial intelligence. This event will bring together members of Effective Altruism Turkey and is aimed at both individuals who have been engaging with EA principles for a long time, and those who are just beginning to explore how they can make a greater impact through their careers, time, and donations.

Through talks, discussions, and networking opportunities, the event aims to spark new ideas, deepen engagement, and strengthen the effective altruism community in Turkey. To be notified when event applications open, please fill out our interest form.

The event will be mostly conducted in Turkish.

This one-day event brings people together around [effective altruism (EA)](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/), a growing global movement dedicated to doing good more effectively. Geneva is a city built on international cooperation, and this summit is for people here who want to think deeply about how to do the most good with the resources they have. You'll hear from inspiring speakers who have built their careers around that question, and leave motivated by the ideas and the community you’ve connected with

2. Our team will review your application and will be in touch with you within 10 working days.

The Summit programme runs from 09:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, 24 October, in English. The full agenda will be published soon. Here's what to expect:

- Sessions built around real decisions rather than surveys of causes – how people weigh trade-offs and choose where their work will matter most.
- Frameworks for weighing trade-offs and judging impact, drawn from how people apply them across their work.
- Peers who changed career, or changed how they work, to do more good: what the move cost them, what surprised them, what they'd do differently. The stories span global health to AI safety, humanitarian response to animal welfare.
- Structured 1-1s and small groups where the conversation centres on your own career or work, not a general Q&A.
- One concrete next step to leave with – a specific opportunity, a connection, or something to try in your current role on Monday.

## Approximate schedule

The event will begin with an opening reception on Friday (but you can arrive at any time during the weekend). Saturday and Sunday will have full-day schedules with content finishing at around 6pm on Sunday evening.

### About the event

EA Summit Warsaw will take place on __3 October 2026__ at the __POLIN Conference Centre in Warsaw__.

It is a one-day conference for people who want to contribute more effectively to solving the world's most pressing challenges.

How can you use your career, time, or donations to do the most good? Which global challenges are especially important today? And how can we use evidence and careful reasoning to decide where our efforts can have the greatest impact?

These are the kinds of questions explored by __effective altruism__ – an approach that combines the desire to help others with evidence and critical thinking in order to address the most important challenges of our time more effectively. During the event, we will explore how these ideas can be translated into concrete decisions and actions.

### Who Is This Event For?

This event is for anyone who wants to do good as effectively as possible, whether through their career, their time, or their donations.

No prior knowledge of effective altruism is required. We welcome people who are completely new to these ideas, as well as those who've already started exploring them.

This event is a good fit if you're:

- Completely new to effective altruism, and curious how its ideas could shape decisions about your career, time, or donations.
- An early-career professional wondering whether your skills could be doing more good somewhere else.
- An experienced member of the effective altruism community, keen to share your experience, insights and network with other people.
- A specialist with relevant expertise, including in policy, public or nonprofit sector work, regardless of your familiarity with effective altruism, keen to bring that knowledge into sessions and discussions.

- workshops focused on turning ideas into action,

EAGxOxford 2026 will take place on __25-27 September 2026__ in Oxford, UK at Examination Schools (75-81 High Street, Oxford).

EAGxOxford is an [effective altruism (EA)](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/) conference organised especially for the UK & Ireland EA community. Wherever you are with these ideas — just starting out, bringing expertise from your own field, or years into work on EA causes — the conference is a chance to connect with people and organisations across the community, exchange ideas, and find actionable ways to make an impact.

__What would I actually get out of this__

Most people say that most of the value comes from 1-1s; meetings that can easily be booked with any other attendee through the online events platform. Many attendees use these meetings to get direct feedback on their plans, and to find funders, collaborators, mentors or future hires.


## Application Process

Applications are open now! The deadline to apply is __17 September 2026__.

Here’s what you can expect:

__Complete a short application (~5-15 minutes)__. We collect basic details about your interests and engagement with effective altruism.

__Our team will review your application__. We aim to be in touch about your application regardless of outcome within 10 business days.

__Register for the conference (~5 minutes)__. If you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive an email with a link to register and confirm your place at the conference. At this stage you’ll be asked to provide dietary requirements and additional logistic details, indicate whether you’ll be available to volunteer, and have the option of donating to offset event costs.

### Accommodation

### Is there a ticket fee?

No, though the conference does cost money to run, and we ask attendees to contribute what they can. You'll be invited to donate after your application is accepted, so it has no bearing on admissions.

### How much should I give?

Running an EAGx costs £400–600 per attendee. We suggest £95 if you're in full-time work, £30 if you're a student or facing financial hardship, and more if you're a higher earner or attending on an employer's budget, you'll see the full range of suggested amounts at registration.

Donations pay for the venue, meals across the weekend, and travel grants for attendees who couldn't otherwise afford to come. If money is a barrier, register as normal and apply for travel support. We don't want cost to be the reason you miss it.

### What are the timings?

The venue is open 3pm on Friday, all day Saturday and closes 6pm Sunday.
Dinner on Friday is provided, alongside lunch and refreshments on Saturday and Sunday. 
You are welcome to register and enter and leave the building at any time. 


## Programme

EAGxOxford runs from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening (25 to 27 September). The weekend combines structured sessions with plenty of open time for 1:1s and small-group conversations. Across the three days you can expect:

- Talks and panels from leading speakers spanning the major cause areas, including AI safety, biosecurity and global catastrophic risks, global health and development, and animal welfare, alongside sessions on cross-cutting questions like cause prioritisation and reasoning under uncertainty.

- Workshops and speaker office hours geared towards concrete next steps, whether that is planning a high-impact career, scoping a new project, or building a specific skill.

- Meetups for particular cause areas, professional backgrounds, and interest-based groups, so it is easier to find the people working on what you care about.

- One-to-one meetings and small-group chats, arranged through the Swapcard app.
