Description
A 6-month remote research fellowship at the Collective Intelligence Project (CIP) for researchers to produce original academic and public-facing work at the intersection of AI, public values, and democratic governance.
- Compensation & commitment: $9,000 fixed stipend paid across three milestone-based tranches; 5–10 hours per week with bi-weekly 1-hour virtual lab meetings
- Exclusive data access: Fellows work with CIP's proprietary datasets — including Global Dialogues (70+ country surveys), Collective Generation deliberative sessions, and the Weval AI evaluation platform
- Research focus: Fellows are selected across three thematic lenses — Democratic & Comparative, Communication & Deliberation, or Governance & Institutions — to ensure complementary, non-overlapping work
- What you get: Co-authorship on CIP Working Papers, public visibility via CIP's channels, peer network with cohort fellows, and direct input into future CIP research
Application deadline: May 15, 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; CIP reserves the right to select candidates before the deadline. Apply via this form or contact fellowship@cip.org with questions.
Visa/eligibility: No visa sponsorship is mentioned. International candidates and non-US residents are explicitly welcome to apply. Institutional affiliation is not required — independent scholars are eligible.
