Description
The CSIS Futures Lab seeks a research intern for a 10-week, full-time position to support quantitative analysis and administrative functions for evidence-based national security research.
- Intern will conduct research (30%) and administrative tasks (60%) including data wrangling, event planning, crisis simulation support, and document assembly
- Requires recent graduate with 3.0+ GPA in relevant field, demonstrated experience in advanced statistical analysis (causal/Bayesian inference), and intermediate R proficiency without AI assistance
- Offers $18-20 hourly based on education level, 35 hours per week in-person at DC office starting mid-September 2025
- Application requires 5 components: transcripts, CV/resume, cover letter using STAR format, writing sample, and coding sample (R preferred) - strictly no AI tools permitted
- Led by first-generation graduates focused on civil service, covering diverse security topics from cyber threats to gender analysis under authoritarianism
