                The Animal Legal Defense Fund is offering law students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in animal law through its Pro Bono Program externships and student volunteer positions for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
                • Focus area - research and projects spanning animal law topics including housing issues, animal custody disputes, dangerous dog designations, tort law, and property-related animal issues
                • Format - fully remote, part-time (5–15 hours/week); fall term runs approximately September 1 – December 1, 2026, and spring term January 15 – April 15, 2027
                • Eligibility - rising 2L, rising 3L, or LLM students at ABA-accredited law schools with strong legal research and writing skills and a sincere interest in animal protection
                • Compensation - uncompensated; students may receive academic credit or pro bono hours through their law school
