Description
The AIxNuclear Research Fellowship is a 10-month, part-time program for early to mid-career US citizens with backgrounds in AI or nuclear security/policy, focused on advancing research and expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence and nuclear security.
- Fellows conduct mentored, open-source research in pairs (one AI, one nuclear expert), culminating in co-authored reports published by the Berkeley Risk and Security Lab and the Council on Strategic Risks.
- The program includes professional development workshops, policy writing training, and mentoring from senior experts, as well as opportunities to brief findings to key stakeholders.
- Networking and community-building activities feature trips to the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, DC, connecting fellows with industry, academia, and government.
- Career support is provided to help fellows transition into public service roles related to AI and nuclear security.
Applicants must be US citizens; no visa sponsorship is available.
