SIPRI is hiring a Research Assistant to join its Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Programme in Stockholm, Sweden, with a preference for candidates with experience in outer space security, chemical weapons, or biological weapons.
- Support research collection, analysis, and publications related to nuclear, chemical, biological, and outer space security topics
- Contribute to WMD events, workshops, and outputs — both administratively and substantively — including reviewing and fact-checking the SIPRI Yearbook
- Initial contract of up to two years, full-time, with the possibility of extension up to six years; salary negotiated individually
- Requires a relevant university degree, fluency in written and spoken English, and strong attention to detail; familiarity with arms control and non-proliferation issues is essential
Visa requirements: Candidates must become residents of Stockholm upon starting. For staff recruited from outside Sweden, SIPRI provides support with work and residence permits.
