Description
A 9-week in-person AI safety research fellowship in London, open to anyone committed to ensuring AI develops safely — regardless of background.
  • Stipend & support: £6,000–£8,000 stipend (Senior Fellows with a PhD or strong publications receive £8k), plus travel to London, £2,000 housing for non-London fellows, and compute resources
  • Expert mentorship: Weekly 1-on-1s with established researchers, plus dedicated research managers to help scope projects and support career planning
  • Workspace & community: In-person co-working at the London Initiative for Safe AI (LISA), with weekday lunches and dinners included, workshops, and speaker Q&As
  • Extensions: 70–90% of fellows who applied received up to 6 months of continued funding, mentorship, and workspace
Visa: Pivotal will not employ fellows directly (stipend agreement only), so meeting UK entry requirements is your own responsibility — Pivotal provides an info doc on entry requirements and can sometimes assist with the process.
