Description
In the next 6 months, we would like to do some general research, to talk to experts, policy-makers, and to specify where the greatest potential for change is. This could have an impact on the whole EU. Potential goals include collaboration with the biological hazards units in our countries and pressure for larger budgets in this area. We estimate that the project as a whole might take around 2 years.
We aim to connect the expert communities to find joint solutions to common policy challenges in the field of biological risks, connect relevant stakeholders with decision-makers and advocate for policy change and good governance.
Open roles (for collaborators from Visegrad+ Partnership countries): That is: Czechia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, but also elected countries of the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia) and the Eastern Partnership regions (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).
  • **A coordinator **
    • The coordinator should be:
      • someone EA-aligned with a good organization and communication skills,
      • good local network among nonprofits, government bodies and other institutions is a plus
      • main factor is having enough time to move the project systematically forward for a year and more
      • not necessarily experienced in policy-making, generalists are also fine! Their first task would be finding an expert for supervision and do or coordinate some general research on existing institutions and policies in their country
  • Experts
    • Specialists with experience with government planning or risk management
  • Volunteers, interns
    • Opportunity ideal for students from fields such as law, international security, public administration, management, etc. who want to work on something impactful
    • The interns will do the initial analysis and collect needed information and contacts.
